Imdur tablets are indicated for the prevention of angina pectoris due to coronary artery disease.
Directions for Imdur Medication
The recommended starting dose of Imdur is 30 mg or 60 mg once daily. If well tolerated, the dosage may be increased to 120 mg once daily after a period of 2 weeks. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 240 mg, which may also be required rarely. Imdur tablets should be taken daily in the morning on arising.
How Imdur Medication works
Dilantin may cause severe hypotension in certain patients, especially in the upright posture. Hence it is necessary to administer this drug with caution to patients who are volume depleted or may already be hypotensive due to any reason. Hypotension caused by isosorbide mononitrate may also lead to paradoxical bradycardia and increased angina pectoris.
