Mobic medication Used For
Mobic (Meloxicam) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which is prescribed to reduce the pain, inflammation, and stiffness caused by osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Directions for Mobic drug
The recommended dose of Mobic for adults is 7.5 milligrams (mg) daily in a single dose.
How Mobic medication works
Patients on Mobic tablets should avoid alcohol or use it with moderation as it may increase the risk of dangerous stomach bleeding. It is advisable to inform your doctor if you have an allergy to aspirin or any other NSAIDs, have an ulcer of bleeding in the stomach, drink more than 3 alcoholic beverages a day, have liver or kidney disease, have a bleeding or blood clotting disorder, suffer from congestive heart failure, fluid retention, other heart diseases or high blood pressure. These conditions may warrant special dose and monitoring considerations.
Mobic medication Side effects
As with all other medications, Mobic medication also has its own side effects which may or may not include any or all of the following: bloody, black, or tarry stools, blood in your vomit, swelling or rapid weight gain (fluid retention), unusual fatigue or weakness, yellowing of the skin or eyes, excessive itching, flu-like symptoms, abdominal pain or tenderness, muscle cramps, numbness, or tingling, ulcers (open sores) in the mouth, seizures, decreased hearing or ringing in the ears, or abdominal cramping, heartburn, or indigestion, dizziness or headache, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, depression, fatigue, weakness, dry mouth, or irregular menstrual periods. It is advisable to seek medical help if any of the above listed side effects get aggravated or cause undue discomfort.

Each dose of Mobic drug must be taken with a full glass of water and can be taken with or without food.
