Directions for Propecia pill
The recommended dosage for Propecia pill is 1 mg once a day. Propecia may be administered with or without meals.
How Propecia works
Propecia should not be prescribed to patients with liver function abnormalities, as finasteride is metabolized extensively in the liver. Finasteride should be used by men only and should never be prescribed for women. Women should not handle crushed or broken Propecia tablets when they are pregnant or may potentially be pregnant because of the possibility of absorption of finasteride and the subsequent potential risk to a male fetus.
Propecia side effects
Propecia pill induces very mild side effects, most of which are sex related, including less desire for sex, difficulty in achieving an erection, and a decrease in the amount of semen. In rare cases, it might also cause allergic reactions like rash, itching, hives, and swelling of the lips and face, problems with ejaculation; breast tenderness and enlargement, and testicular pain. Most side effects of the drug disappear within a few days of stopping treatment.
Other Propecia pill Information
Finasteride can affect a blood test called PSA (prostate-specific antigen) for the screening of prostate cancer. Effects of Prozac become visible after several weeks of treatment. Propecia pill should be continued over an extended period of time and its results are reversible and hair growth gained during use will revert back to original state within 12 months of stopping treatment.
